Compound The Movie

What enters your mind when you hear the word 'compound?' For me compound is either a chemical combination of two or more elements OR a walled-in area containing buildings or houses. So what? Well, I was invited to watch a movie entitled Compound. It's a psycho-thriller, sex-filled indie movie shown at Robinson's Galleria. It's about the Delos Reyes family who owns the compound. Gil is the methamphetamine addict, married to Divina, who is an obsessive-compulsive narcissist, with an autistic daughter, Luisa. One day, Jay rented one of the houses in the houses inside the compound because he wanted space from his ex-wife, Rachel and his gay lover, Gary. The compound is being managed by Romina, the maid engaged to Big Boy, the all-around houseboy. Luisa has imaginary friends (Melissa, Leb, Rico, Toto et al.) She says she hears them at the abandoned house. Romina is actually the lust-interest of Gil and they were the ones being heard by Luisa during their carnal rendezvous. Jay has the hots for Big Boy and he let him give a whole body massage plus extra service. Everything seemed to be in place until Gil, who's addicted to shabu, got paranoid and started having auditory hallucinations. He hears multiple voices from terrorists who are plotting to take over the compound. He locked Luisa inside the room. He made his wife pack her things and he thought Jay was conspiring with the terrorists so he made Big Boy tie up Jay and he beat Jay black and blue. Gary and Rachel went to the compound to rescue Jay. Gil was getting more and more paranoid. He went to the room where he locked Luisa and shot himself. The crazy thing about the movie is that the camera is also hallucinating. At the end, the camera showed the terrorists stripping them and tying them all. Bottom line: Don't do drugs.
