Revalida Fever

Probably, in the new few entries, I will be talking mostly about my revalida. This will really determine if a 4th year medical student will graduate or not, will graduate with honors or not. In my case, it's the latter. The tentative date for my revalida is on the first day of March and I'm just starting. I just got "First Aid for the USMLE Step 1." This book covers the basic subject. It may not be complete but this will more or less give me the idea of what I should be reading from the textbook, those that need to be emphasized.

Step 2 covers the clinical subjects like medicine, surgery, pediatrics and the like. I'll get a copy of this one after I'm through with step 1. I cannot anymore read the review books of each subject due to time constraint.

And as an elder brod advised:

1) Don’t lie about your physical findings. Even if you know that the case you have those PE findings and you where not able to elicit it because sa pagmamadali dahil kinakabahan kayo at sa takot, it’s ok. Sabihin ninyo ng hindi ninyo nakuha, but in this case, it may be present. The point is that you should be honest to your patients

2) Don’t be arrogant on your answer. Tandaan ninyo na masmatanda sila.

3) Relax lang kayo. Revalida is one of the traditions in UST, walang ibang medical school na siniseryoso ang oral exam beside UST, so be proud of it.

4) And always, “PRAY, and PRAY HARD!!!” Nothing beats prayer.
