Gloria Arroyo

by Carlo Cadiz

I wonder where have all the revolutionaries in Manila gone. Here you have a president who admitted she was indeed the woman in the extremely incrimating tape, and she's still allowed one minute, one hour, one day in Malacanang.

I just left the Philippines last week and I felt the deep anger and resentment among almost everyone in this most manipulative, dishonest and criminal president I’ve ever seen. Her capacity to be undaunted by her own shame is just too astounding. Arroyo has achieved in 4 years, or even out corrupted, what Marcos mastered for at least a decade.

I hope the people now flood the streets of Manila if the country's corrupt political establishment will not seek retribution from this confessed felon and demonstrate that we are not a stupid race. For the sake of own sense of national shame, if arroyo has none, this is the best time when our collective outrage can drive out the darkest demon in our midst.
