Dermatology

I haven't really have blogged about my Dermatology rotation. You start your day with a quiz basically about a certain topic, usually by the type of skin lesions (like erythematous papules, skin colored patch, bullae and others). After the quiz, you'll see patients with various skin problems. You get patients from a simple acne vulgaris to a serious Stevens Johnson's Syndrome (Erythema multiforme major, there'a minor, caused by HSV). After getting the history and the PE, you'll present the patient to either a consultant or a resident and you'll be graded accordingly. They will base your grades on your history, PE, diagnosis and the plans. This rotation has been a very enjoyable rotation for all of us because of the cool residents and intelligent consultants. What's even better, you only have 1 night duty for the whole 2 weeks. Everyday, you come to the OPD at 7, you'll have your lunchbreak at 12 to 2, then OPD resumes at 2 to 5PM. Ain't that great?
